Description
Death is only a part of living and even in death there is beauty. I watched as my father suffered from cancer, as the cancer ate away at his body, he lost so much weight. I had gone to see him for a week, the week before he died. The sparkle in his eyes though dim was still there, his eyes widened and brightened as he spoke when he saw me "ahhhh my first born". Even though he was kept on meds to keep him out of pain, even though he was fading quickly, I'll never forget how his eyes, the windows to his soul were still so full of love and admiration. He was hanging on because he didn't want to leave my mom and the day that she finally was able to tell him it was ok is when he passed. Life clings on as long as it can, it finds strength when strength is gone, just like this beautiful sunflower as the sunlight gently highlights some of its flowing petals in a soft summer's wind, it hangs on with a last bit of strength, until its life is finished.
