Artist's Description
The deer are on the move and for the first time in a couple of years I happened upon a young buck who darted in front of my car in my neighborhood. Good thing I was only going about 10 miles an hour. This beautiful creature, after crossing to the other side of the street, stood tall and proud. His coat was more white than any I have ever seen, he was gorgeous. I still cannot get him out of my mind, but he, together with my young nephew were the inspiration for this painting. My nephew, Nicholas Shoemaker is a key player for the Dunmore Bucks football team, the same high school I graduated from in 1978. So as a tribute to Nick and in memory of my graduating class and the young buck that crossed my path, "Young Buck" was created.
